My past experiences with narrative writing in school is non-existent. I have not have written about anything in this subject. If I had, its been long forgotten because it is irrelevant. It has been a while since I took an English class. This is going to be an interesting project. After all I have been on break from education for about eight years. And now I'm back in that education game once again.
To describe my emotional identity would be best described as hidden to strangers. I would say I am an emotional person but it doesn't show. Only a handful who knew me for years know how I really feel in any situation. Most of my emotions are contained especially any negative feelings.
To begin my process of writing a memoir for this narrative project. I first composed a Letter to my Author self for blog post 3. It did try to tap into the author self that had been locked away since middle school days not sure if it worked yet but, we will see. Second, I posted up Writing Process Roundtable in blog post 4 it helped me get back in the groove of writing with quotes. Is it good? I'm not sure, leave a comment of what you think. Third, Blog post 5 - Composing an Emotional Scene with Dialogue and Symbolism I relived my childhood days with my cousin and this post help me practice more by writing with dialogue and not worry about the grammar that is being used since that was how we use to talk. Finally, I posted blog 6 - Telling Myself a Different Story: A Memoir Counterfactual, basically an alternate ending for blog post 5, writing did help me shape my way of story telling in a way that I usually never do. Since, I always go out of order when I am telling a story.
Trying to remember what to write for this paper did bring back a recent life lesson and it taught me to don't always trust what you read, especially when it comes to reviews, even if it is in the majority. It was my first time going to Europe with my girlfriend and it was a bitter sweet experience is the best way to put it.
